El Nino Outlook Neutral Into Spring

created on: 11.10.2013 | by: Jürgen Oeder | Category(s): News, Umwelt

Due to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration the El Nino phenomenon is unlikely to cause extreme weather in the Northern Hemisphere into spring 2014. Atmospheric and oceanic conditions over the last month indicated a neutral El Nino forecast heading into the spring, with warmer conditions gradually increasing.

Fishing conditions in the Indo-Pacific will not be affected therefore and should be normal from Cabo San Lucas/Mexico to Malindi/Kenya. The weather pattern can cause SST above average, flooding and heavy rains in South America and trigger drought conditions in Southeast Asia and Australia.
