An angler`s dream came true. The lucky winner is Guy Yocom from California. Fishing from the big game boat named El Seuertudo (“The Lucky One” ), he caught in September 2012 a 427 lb. yellowfin tuna. After the fish was approved by the IGFA to be the All-Tackle world record, Guy received another merry message. This time from Mustad, what told him, that he has “hooked a million” , the first prize in their correspondent contest. Jeff Pierce, Mustads manager presented a symbolic Million-dollar check to Guy Yocom (middle), because the prize money can`t get paid out at once. For the next 50 years the lucky devil will receive 20.000 $ once a year. That`s not bad either! courtesy Mustad This fish was hooked on a 12/0 39950BLN Demon Perfect Circle Hook during chunking to a school of yellowfins 100 miles of the coast to Cabo San Lucas. This place really seems to be a hot spot for catching the big ones. A yellowfin tuna with 432lbs. and another one with 427,9 lb. were caught there already, as well as the biggest yellowfin ever got caught with rod and reel: A 445lb tuna caught by John Petrescu on the EXCEL at the beginning of this year. courtesy IGFA
